Job Title: Part-Time Comptroller

Job Summary:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Comptroller to manage the financial side of our small tourism business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys using their accounting and financial skills in a flexible, low-hour setting. The position requires only a few days of work each month, making it a great fit for a professional seeking supplemental income or a balanced schedule. Experience in HR is a plus, as the role may occasionally assist with payroll, onboarding, and employee records.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee core accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
· Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly financial reports.
· Support budget planning, cash flow management, and seasonal forecasting.
· Ensure compliance with tax filings, licenses, and tourism-related regulations.
· Manage vendor payments and contracts.
· Provide financial insights to leadership to support pricing, planning, and operations.
· Implement and maintain appropriate internal financial controls.
· Assist with basic HR tasks such as payroll administration, personnel records, and onboarding (as needed).
· Work with external accountants/auditors during tax season or annual reviews.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent experience preferred but not required).
· 3 years of experience in accounting/finance; small business or tourism/hospitality background is a plus.
· Knowledge of GAAP and small business accounting practices.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills, able to explain financial matters to non-financial staff.
· HR experience is a plus.
