Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math activities, and early childhood development strategies.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior, guiding children through routines, and fostering respectful interactions among students.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, including toddler care and Montessori-inspired methods.
- Help create a nurturing environment by supervising children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop individualized learning plans for children with special needs or disabilities, including experience working with children with autism.
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's progress and behavior management strategies to support ongoing assessment and communication with families.
- Assist in preparing educational materials and classroom setup to enhance lesson delivery and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about daily activities, developmental milestones, and any concerns regarding their child's progress or well-being.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within daycare or preschool settings while promoting a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
- Support curriculum development efforts by integrating innovative teaching approaches such as Montessori or other early childhood education frameworks.
Experience
- Prior experience working directly with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early education practices including literacy education, math fundamentals, behavior management techniques, and classroom management skills.
- Experience working with children who have special needs or disabilities—including autism—is advantageous.
- Familiarity with curriculum development processes tailored to preschool-aged learners and toddler care is desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage parents in their child's educational journey.
- Previous classroom experience involving lesson planning for early childhood education programs such as Montessori or similar methodologies enhances candidacy.
