The Commercial
Finance Manager is responsible for creating, analyzing, and interpreting our
data to make informed decisions. This role is responsible for supporting the
Senior Management team with strategic planning, annual operating planning &
Financial budgeting, and forecasting for the commercial business model. The
ideal candidate performs at a high-level as Finance Business Partner supporting
cross-functional sales, marketing and operations fostering connectivity across
the enterprise.
Job Function and Responsibilities:
• Support customer facing activities,
specifically sales and Marketing teams, providing accurate and timely financial
analysis of key commercial initiatives and activities.
• Prepare “Gross to Net” analysis by
customer which ensures full understanding of return rates and customer
programs.
• Ensure proper accruals are maintained
for all customer programs and that proper approvals are in place for all
incremental programs and customer marketing support.
• Reconcile accrual accounts and
prepare journal entries as needed.
• Review monthly sales commission,
royalty calculation and quarterly billbacks to Parent Co as needed.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis to
support key business decisions, including ROI, SPB (simple pay back) and
DCRR. Raise concerns to (first) team
members and (second) leadership when proper hurdle rates are not achieved on
key sales and marketing programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain regular reporting
packages including monthly/quarterly Sales and Marketing expense review and
prepare budget/forecast variance analysis.
• Work with sales team to provide sales
forecast adjustments – Risk Hedges & Opportunities. Challenge sales when forecast seem
unachievable.
• Cooperate with Sales and Marketing
teams to customize deal structures to meet customers' specific requirements and
Positec deal hurdles.
• Work with the appropriate teams to
develop new business models to capture new business opportunities and diversify
Positec revenue.
• Prepare annual sales and marketing
budgets and link to larger business financial planning and reporting.
• Work to develop key reporting
commercial bridges to simplify reporting and action improvements.
• Maintain customer pricing review
process and template; prepare pro forma contribution analysis for all line review and promotions.
• Support product team with new product
cost and pricing review.
• Support Marketing team with media
efficiency analysis.
• Support finance team with special
projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or
finance or a combination of education and relevant work experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years in a financial
or accounting position is required, FP&A experience is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft
Excel is required.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative
and data visualization skills are required.
- Financial analytics with deep
understanding of revenue, margin and pricing and accounting principals
- Experience using SAP or any other ERP
system is required.
