The CNC Lathe Operator / Setup Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC Lathes. Must be proficient in converting metrics to standard and using calipers and micrometers. Must have a strong understanding of Quality. Experience with Haas controls would be considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Setup
- Set up and operate Haas CNC Lathes to produce high-precision components.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently.
- Converting metric to standard is a must as our blueprints are metric but machines are programed and ran in US standard.
- Develop and optimize CNC and programs using G codes and/or CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam).
- Adjust cutting parameters and offsets based on material type and thickness to ensure quality and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure that tooling meets safety and performance standards.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ensure all components meet dimensional and surface finish specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, programs, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating and set up CNC Lathes.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code programming.
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances, and materials.
- Familiarity with Haas controls is a plus.
- Converting metric to standard.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and great attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Keeping a clean and safe work environment.
- Manufacturing floor environments with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking processes.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. (Steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs)
