Portrait Analytics is hiring an Account Executive
Our GTM team builds long-term relationships with hedge funds, long-only asset managers, and
family offices. The Account Executive owns new business end to end: sourcing their own
pipeline, opening relationships, and closing.
This is a pure hunter-closer role. You generate your own leads through your network and
outbound, and run the full cycle, without leaning on inbound or SDR support. We’re looking for
someone who already knows the buyside and can earn credibility with analysts and PMs.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
As an Account Executive, you own new business from first conversation to signed contract. You
build your own pipeline and close it.
- Source your own pipeline of hedge funds, long-only managers, and family offices. This is a hunter role: you generate leads through your network and outbound
- Run the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, demo, trial, negotiation, and close
- Run demos that show each prospect exactly how Portrait fits their research process
- Earn credibility with skeptical, analytically rigorous buyers by demonstrating concrete value, not features
- Keep pipeline, forecasts, and CRM accurate in HubSpot
- Feed prospect insight back to product, and partner with Account Managers on clean handoffs

- A deep understanding of how fundamental research gets done, and how investors adopt new technology
- A hand in shaping the commercial playbook for a category-defining product in its early innings
What We’re Looking For
- Closing experience. 2 to 6 years of quota-carrying sales experience selling software, data, or research solutions to buyside firms, with the ability to tailor your approach across different fund types and sizes.
- An established network. Existing relationships across the buyside and a demonstrated ability to generate your own pipeline and secure meetings with PMs, analysts, and directors of research independently.
- Knowledge of the investment process. A strong understanding of how investors source ideas, build conviction, size positions, and manage risk, and the ability to position Portrait credibly within that workflow.
- Comfort with a fast-paced sales cycle. Experience managing short, demo-driven sales cycles and maintaining momentum through to close.
Compensation:
Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission, with accelerators for performance above
quota, and an early-stage equity grant.
