Our St. Augustine portfolio includes luxury homes in St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, and surrounding areas. These homes host guests year-round, including peak summer beach season and holiday travel.
What This Role Actually Is
This is a hands-on handyman position focused exclusively on short-term rental homes.
You will not be sitting in an office. You will be on the road daily, moving between properties, solving real-world problems quickly and independently.
This role is for someone who can walk into a home and fix things without needing constant direction.
If you are not comfortable working alone, troubleshooting on the fly, or being held accountable to response times, this is not the right fit.
Core Responsibilities
You will be responsible for maintaining guest-ready homes at all times. That includes:
- Light plumbing repairs, leaks, clogs, fixture replacements
- Electrical troubleshooting, outlet and switch replacement, lighting repair
- Minor HVAC diagnostics and coordination with licensed vendors when needed
- Drywall patching, painting touch-ups, trim and door adjustments
- Appliance troubleshooting and minor repairs
- Furniture repair and light carpentry
- Lock and smart lock troubleshooting
- Humidity and storm readiness support, including tropical weather response and post-storm assessments
- Completing preventative maintenance walkthroughs
- Responding to in-stay guest issues that require physical presence
- Documenting work performed with photos and notes
You must be able to assess whether something can be handled internally or requires escalation to a licensed trade.
What We Expect
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on handyman or maintenance experience
- Experience in residential homes, not just commercial facilities
- Strong troubleshooting skills, not just task completion
- Ability to work independently without micromanagement
