What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Portner and Shure, P.A.?
Portner & Shure is one of the leading criminal defense firms in Virginia. We are seeking a leading associate attorney to handle criminal cases for our expanding Richmond, Virginia practice. Must be able to work on multiple cases at different stages of the process.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in the General District Court / Circuit Court
- Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
Qualifications:
- Experience in criminal defense
- Advise clients about their legal rights and options
- Conduct legal research and devise an effective strategy to defend the client(s) in court
- Gather evidence in support of the case
- Present evidence in court
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Must be licensed in Virginia
- Speak Spanish a plus but not required
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be proficient with handling a high volumes of cases
- Must be an active member and in good standing with the Virginia bar
- Must have a proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Must have excellent attention to detail, stellar organization skills and the ability to not only communicate well but to fully grasp real-life implications that these cases have on our clients

Salary : $105,000 - $120,000
