Work Days/Hours In-person schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with any flexibility subject to prior supervisor approval. Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $56,880 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. - The MBA program is a professional graduate level program in the School of Business. The MBA Student Experience Manager position is a 12-month classified appointment reporting directly to the MBA Academic Director (AD)
- Student Support: Manage and update student advising tools and communications plans; serve as a key point of contact for MBA students, guiding them through their program requirements and program materials.
- Event Management: Own the planning and execution of a dynamic calendar of events, including student mixers, alumni events, orientation sessions, leadership immersion, and special field experiences and visits to local businesses to foster a sense of community.
- Program Operations: Act as the administration backbone of the MBA Program, working with the AD on Capstone Administration, managing student materials, and other special projects as the program evolves.
- Admissions & Recruiting Support: Be an integral part of the recruiting and admissions team, pitching in where needed to assist the AD and Graduate Programs team review MBA applications and support or present at recruiting events and information sessions when needed.
- Other special projects as needed to support the operations and growth of the MBA program
- A bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years experience in business administration or related field;
- A strong understanding of the mission and operations of a graduate business program and MBA programs in particular.
- Someone who is adaptable, flexible, and ready to take on new challenges as the program grows.
- Someone who is able to work effectively in both our community of students and the broader business community in the Portland Metro area.
- An organized and efficient administrator, who is able to work both independently and under supervision and within tight timelines.
- Someone with effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to find solutions using current policies and available tools.
- An exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Project management skills, with the ability to use collaborative tools to manage projects and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Technical proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint.)
- Discretion and professionalism, including the ability to handle confidential information and student records.
- An interest in providing excellent student-centered service.
- A masters degree in business administration or related graduate degree
- An understanding of the mission and operations of graduate-level business programs.
- Familiarity with AI tools, data visualization, and visual storytelling (using tools such Powerpoint, Canva, graphic design) or a willingness to learn these skills to improve efficiency.
- The ability to analyze and summarize data and information effectively.
- Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.
- Function and communicate effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
