Position Summary

This position exists within the Oregon Center for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education. The Center promotes the quality of childhood care and education for Oregon’s children and families by providing a statewide career development system for practitioners.

This position operates within the credentialing & certification functions of the Center at a secondary support level. Primary responsibilities of this position include: data entry of training and education documentation, verification of training and education documentation, registry application processing including screening and review; follow up & phone consultations; interpretation of policy Information, and technical assistance.

Within the credentialing & certification functions, this position has responsibility for providing assistance and professional support to the coordinator of credentialing & certification. Assistance and professional support may be provided in such areas as: registry & knowledge standards; registry systems development/implementation; training records creation, training documentation verification, presentations &media packages to practitioners, work in state verification data system; work with state partners and review teams.

This position works closely with the Supervisor, Coordinator, and other Center professional and support staff, in accomplishing these responsibilities.

This position is grant funded through June 30, 2027. We are recruiting to fill two open positions. The positions may be renewed, contingent on grant funding.

In accordance with the AAUP collective bargaining agreement this position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in the field of education, early childhood education or related field and/or a Step 9.
  • 1- 2 years of experience and professional competence in education or related fields.
  • Evidence of professional standards, ethics, and values that uphold an equity lens.
  • Demonstrated ability in the following areas:
    • Application and document processing, screening for completeness, data entry, and approvals.
    • Interpreting and implementing program policies and procedures.
    • Proficiency in computer systems and databases for maintaining and analyzing data.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-project office environment.
    • Working with people from diverse backgrounds and professional affiliations.
Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of professional experience and professional competence in similar position
  • Experience providing technical assistance /professional development advising
  • Experience giving presentations in professional settings
  • Bilingual communication skills – English/Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, or Chinese

Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be $54,072, but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.

An excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
