Portland Pump Company (PPC) is seeking a Laborer to join their team in Scarborough, ME. The Laborer will spend the majority of their time working on location with a crew. Travel is required including frequent out of town travel for installs.

Requirements of the Laborer:

• 2-3 years of experience in construction settings
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of construction operations and safety required.
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record and own transportation
• Out of town/state travel required with some overnight travel for work.
• Experience with construction labor and heavy equipment
• Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks

Responsibilities of the Laborer:

• Following the direction of the Certified Tank Installer (CTI), assist and perform day to day construction needs such as digging, shoveling, layout and equipment installation.
• Load, carry, and set up tools, machinery, and materials needed for daily tasks.
• Operate construction equipment and machinery under supervision, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Work with excavating and help prepare area. Dig trenches, compact earth, and backfill holes.
• Assist with the installation, assembly, and repair of petroleum systems.
• Assist in site clean-up.
• Follow safety procedures and report any issues to the site supervisor immediately.
• Complete daily tasks as assigned by the Project Manager (CTI) and Operations Manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
