Position Overview
Under the direction of the Head Custodian, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform floor care, including stripping and waxing
- Wash, polish, and wipe surfaces to maintain building cleanliness standards
- Empty trash and recycling and maintain waste areas
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks, including painting and replacing light bulbs
- Receive, verify, and properly store deliveries, ensuring materials and supplies are organized and accessible
- Operate custodial equipment and machinery safely
- Use lifting and moving equipment to transport materials and supplies
- Make deliveries and assist with movement of furniture and equipment
- Remove snow and maintain safe building access during winter conditions
- Work from ladders as needed
- Carry and actively monitor a two-way radio to communicate with supervisors and team members throughout the shift
- Identify and report maintenance or safety hazards promptly
- Secure the building at the end of shift
- Travel to and work at other school locations as assigned to provide coverage for first shift custodial staff and support district-wide operational needs
- Perform other custodial and facilities-related duties as trained and assigned

- MondayFriday, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM

- Covered under the BASE contract (20232026 CBA)
- Wage range: $19.23 $23.97/hour (based on experience, as outlined in the CBA)
