TITLE: Building Custodian II, 2nd Shift (Part Time, 0.5 FTE) - District Office

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Head Custodian, the selected candidate will clean, empty trash, dust, mop, disinfect, wash, polish, wipe, paint, remove/shovel snow, receive/stock supplies, strip/wax floors, use lifting/moving equipment, operate machinery, make deliveries, replace light bulbs, work from ladders, report hazards, secure the building and perform other custodial tasks as trained and assigned.

The selected candidate will have the knowledge, skill and abilities highlighted in the job description as well as a high school diploma or GED. The selected candidate will be required to perform manual labor including, but not limited to, lifting a minimum of 50 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, bending, climbing and repetitive motion. Successful candidate will have to pass a post-offer physical.

** Work hours will be Monday-Friday 5:30PM-9:30 PM.**

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• English language proficiency required
• Multilingual proficiency preferred
• High school diploma or GED

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Maine State CHRC authorization (cost is $70 - more info here)

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

• Work Year: Full Year
• Assignment: Permanent, Part Time (0.5 FTE)
• Location: Central Office
• Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday 5:30PM-9:30 PM
• Contract: BASE union (2026-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement posted here)
• Wage range: $20.71-26.53, based on experience, as outlined in the CBA linked above
