Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Die Labor technician to join our manufacturing team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various fabrication and machining equipment to produce high-quality die components. Your expertise will ensure precision, safety, and efficiency throughout the die-making process, supporting our commitment to excellence in materials science.
Duties
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other machining tools to create die components with precision.
- Set up and calibrate equipment including press brake machines, stamping presses, plasma cutters, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection and verification of parts.
- Assemble die components accurately while adhering to safety protocols and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain tooling and fabrication equipment through routine inspections and troubleshooting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by documenting processes and suggesting enhancements for efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating CNC machinery including laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, EDM machines, and stamping presses.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, tooling setup, and machine maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply GD&T principles for precise manufacturing.
- Skilled in welding techniques necessary for die assembly and repair.
- Familiarity with sheet metal work, hand tools, cranes, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to die production and quality inspection standards.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential in machining operations.
