Job Description: CNC Programmer/Operator
Foil Die International ( FDI) is an aluminum foil container production engineering firm that specializes in the manufacture of complex, progressive dies and production line automation equipment. We serve the largest aluminum container producers in North America with high quality, efficient, and effective service. FDI requires a Lead CNC Programmer/Operator that will contribute to the manufacture of both progressive die components and automation equipment components through fulfilling the CNC mill role in the production process. This position requires an understanding of machining techniques, engineering, and the ability to mill a wide range of components. FDI requires a motivated and industrious individual to cooperate with colleagues to effectively manufacture components and improve effectiveness by minimizing rework and maximizing machine uptime.
Responsibilities:
- Production:
- Review specifications & blueprints to set machine operations & control sequences
- Entering instructions & calculate requirements using geometry & trigonometry
- Mount, install, align, & secure tools, attachments, fixtures, & workpieces using hand tools & precision measuring instruments
- Check that workpieces are properly lubricated & cooled during machine operation
- Listen to machine operation to detect sounds made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration & adjust machines to compensate for problems
- Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure specification conformance, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions or production errors or to obtain approval to continue production
- Process Improvement
- Participate in process team to improve key performance indicators
- Work with process team to achieve actual vs estimate time and rework goals
- Monitor key performance indicators to take action for improvement
- Take direction from process lead to implement process improvements
- Collect & review process data to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with process team to identify issues & make improvements
- Maintenance:
- Maintain machines & replace broken or worn machine tools.
- Clean machines, tooling, or parts, to maintain machine

Experience & Education:
- 2 years of experience operating a CNC or Manual mill
Benefit Package:
Base Wages $27.00-34.00/hr. based on experience, based on a 40-hour work week
