Position Summary
As a Trolley Driver at Portland Discovery Land & Sea Tours, you will be responsible for safely operating our trolley along narrated sightseeing routes throughout Greater Portland. This role is essential to delivering a safe, smooth, and enjoyable guest experience, working closely with the onboard Tour Guide who provides the narration.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the trolley along designated routes throughout Greater Portland
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT and company requirements
- Assist guests with safely boarding and exiting the trolley
- Maintain awareness of traffic, pedestrians, and road conditions throughout each tour
- Coordinate with the onboard Tour Guide to keep tours running on schedule
- Maintain a clean, well-presented vehicle and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Provide friendly, professional customer service to guests
- Adhere to all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws
- Manage time efficiently to ensure timely departures and arrivals
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement required
- Clean driving record
- Current DOT medical certification (or ability to obtain one)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Highly organized, dependable, and safety-focused
- Good time management skills to ensure timely departures and arrivals
- Comfortable working weekdays and weekends interchangeably
- Hospitality, tourism, or passenger transportation experience preferred
