Responsibilities
- Identifies, evaluates, and assesses the mental health needs of clients, developing treatment plans and prescribing appropriate interventions and medications.
- Works with individuals, families, and groups to assess emotional, social, and physical health needs, consulting with general medical professionals as needed.
- Documents all diagnoses, ensuring accurate documentation of disease progression and manifestation.
- Seeks consultation and supervision in complicated cases, evaluating clients' responsiveness to treatment and recommending changes in treatment goals.
- Provides coaching, instructions, and direction to professional and paraprofessional staff, participating in medical staff meetings and committee assignments as directed.
- Current licensure and prescriptive practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Experience or training in mental health and/or chemical dependency treatment is required.
- Licensed nurse practitioner license is required.
