Accounts Payable Assistant
Portables is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant with a preferred finance or accounting background. This position at our Corporate Office requires dedication and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing all activities necessary to complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. This position works closely under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Finance in order to carry out all necessary financial management and fiscal control policies and activities for administration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
- Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email.
- Attaches the corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with all supporting documentation.
- Investigates and resolve problems associated with the processing of invoices and purchase orders.
- Prepares batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
- Receives, researches, and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
- File, maintain and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
- Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- QuickBooks system experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills; must be detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow up on pending issues
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to be in office from 9 AM- 6 PM Mon-Fri.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
