Position Overview:
We are seeking skilled and dependable Welders to join our manufacturing team. Welders are fully responsible for the quality and completion of the work assigned to them. The top priorities in this role include maintaining a strong commitment to safety—both personal and team-wide—and delivering high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong welding abilities, sound judgment, high ethical standards, and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety:
- Follow all PSG safety rules and guidelines outlined in the PSG Safety Manual.
- Maintain a safe work environment by inspecting and reporting equipment concerns (e.g., frayed cords, damaged tools) to the Team Leader, Safety Contact, or Management.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain required job documentation and ensure familiarity with all related work documents.
- Understand and follow plant documents, including plans, specifications, and change orders, address questions or discrepancies with the Team Leader or Manufacturing Manager.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and floors are broom swept daily.
- Participate in safety and project meetings as requested.
Workplace Conduct:
- Maintain a professional work environment at all times.
- Radios may be played at low volume only; disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
Company Policy Adherence:
- Ensure that all employees, subcontractors, vendors, and customers in your work area comply with PSG policies—including those related to safety, cleanliness, appearance, and customer satisfaction.
- Report any policy violations or concerns to your supervisor immediately.
Overtime:
- Overtime may be required based on production needs and order volume.
- Overtime assignments are determined by the Manufacturing Manager or Plant Manager and are considered mandatory.
- Late arrival or failure to attend scheduled overtime is treated as a tardy or absence in accordance with company attendance policy.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Additional training or certification in welding (preferred)
Experience:
- Prior experience in manufacturing and/or welding is preferred
Specialized Knowledge:
- Familiarity with industry-standard practices and materials, including those used at PSG manufacturing.
Skills:
- Proficient use of welding tools and related equipment
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and plans
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable standing or kneeling for up to 90% of the shift
- Ability to bend, climb, crawl, and work in various physical positions
- Ability to safely use ladders and work with tools and materials in different environments
Part-time | Flexible hours
Work between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday–Saturday
Minimum 4-hour shifts.
