The Park Host's primary duty is to be a point of contact and liaison between the public and the Park and Project Manager at Willow Grove Park. This voluntary position is provided with a designated camper/recreational vehicle campsite for a minimum of 60 consecutive days. Water, sewer, electrical and garbage services are provided. The host is responsible for bringing their own camper/recreational vehicle that meets Port guidelines.

Duties:
  • Remain on site for a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week (Monday-Sunday).
  • Open the Park gates daily at sunrise and close them daily at sunset. 
  • Remain visible as the point-of-contact for Park patrons to ask questions. Hand out information to Park patrons concerning Park rules and policies. Encourage patrons to use Park facilities safely and responsibly. 
  • Maintain bulletin boards by ensuring that Port issued brochures are stocked and remove all non-Port unauthorized postings. 
  • Be observant and capable of immediately contacting the Park and Project Manager, contracted security, and/or local law enforcement or emergency services when emergencies (whether medical or otherwise) occur in the Park. 
  • The Park Host is not responsible for enforcing Park rules and local laws.
  • Generally maintain the Park and facilities and report maintenance needs and damage to Park assets to the Park and Project Manager. 
  • Report vehicles that traverse the Park and trespass on private property to the Park and Project Manager. 
  • Restock life jacket loaner boards (as needed). 
  • Monitor the cleanliness and restock Park restrooms. Report restroom cleaning and supply needs to the Park and Project Manager. 
  • Perform other duties as agreed. 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age.
  • Applicants must pass a criminal background check.
  • Possess or have the ability to acquire a valid driver's license. 
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 60 days. 
  • Park Host will reside in a licensed RV (motor home/trailer/campers) only. Tent camping is not allowed.  
  • Ability to work independently, professionally, and cooperatively. 
  • Dress appropriately. 
  • Capability to perform physical work duties in an outdoor environment. Must be able to sit, stand, bend/reach, and walk (or accessible equivalent) for varying lengths of time (position may require extended periods in the outdoors during adverse conditions such as heat, cold or rain). 
  • Maintain state mandated levels of automobile, recreational vehicle, watercraft and/or homeowners insurance necessary to cover personal property against loss. 
  • Maintain state licensing and registration of automobile, watercraft and/or motor home/trailer. 
  • Provide the Port with a waiver of claims for injury and/or personal property damage. 
  • Submit weekly timecard. 
Expectations: 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly Host campsite. 
  • Host may not sell anything in the Park. 
  • No additional structures or stoarge containers. 
  • Limit all plants or gardens to portable containers. 
  • Do not perform vehicle, RV or boat maintenance in the Park. 
  • Do not use Port of Longview equipment or facilities for personal benefit. 
  • Only camping and recreational equipment may be in public view. All other equipment must be stored out of sight. 
  • No smoking or tobacco use except within Host's RV and in park designated smoking areas. 
  • No public alcohol consumption and no alcohol consumption during on-duty hours. 
  • Hosts are official representatives of the Port, therefore, avoid offensive language or conduct and avoid displaying signs, decals, bumper stickers, and/or posters that express political or religious viewpoints. 
  • All dogs must be kept on a leash.
