What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Supervisor position at Port of Galveston?
The Operations Supervisor reports to the Assistant Operations Manager and supports the safe, efficient, professional, and continuous operation of Galveston Wharves Parking and Ground Transportation operations. The position assists with daily operations, facilities, parking and ground transportation activities, equipment, customer service, reporting, maintenance coordination, staff support, and other operational needs.
The Operations Supervisor is expected to cooperate with and follow reasonable operational direction and assignments from authorized members of the Parking and Ground Transportation management team. Responsibilities are not limited to the employee's normally assigned terminal, parking location, shift, or functional area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Support daily Parking and Ground Transportation operations and assist management in maintaining safe, efficient, professional, and customer-focused operations.
· Follow reasonable work assignments and operational direction from the Assistant Operations Manager and other authorized Parking and Ground Transportation management personnel.
· Assist other managers, supervisors, employees, locations, and functional areas and provide operational coverage when requested or when operational needs are required, including absences, staffing shortages, cruise and non-cruise operations, special events, and emergencies.
· Monitor facilities, parking areas, equipment, revenue-control systems, safety, security, maintenance, and customer service conditions. Promptly report concerns and assist with corrective action within the scope of the position.
· Complete assigned inspections, reports, incident documentation, work orders, operational records, projects, and follow-up accurately and within established expectations and timeframes.
· Communicate professionally and promptly. Acknowledge assignments and communicate questions, conflicting priorities, safety concerns, access or training limitations, or other legitimate obstacles to the appropriate manager without unnecessary delay.
· Support facility upkeep, parking enforcement, equipment monitoring, maintenance coordination, special projects, and other departmental initiatives as assigned.
· Protect Port property, equipment, records, systems, and information.
· Perform other related duties, responsibilities, assignments, and operational coverage as needed.
· Possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Operational Expectations
The Operations Supervisor is expected to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, initiative, flexibility, teamwork, sound judgment, and effective communication. The position requires cooperation with authorized management personnel and support for reasonable assignments related to Parking and Ground Transportation operations.
Work Environment and Availability
The position requires work in indoor and outdoor environments and active operational areas, including terminals, parking facilities, and ground transportation areas. The Operations Supervisor must be available to work weekends, holidays, adjusted schedules, special events, emergencies, and additional hours when required by operational needs.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
