Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, financial management, and reporting. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Duties
- Manage the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support organizational goals.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Manage cash flow and cash management activities to optimize liquidity.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems such as DELMIAWorks and Manufacturing ERP (formerly IQMS) for efficient financial management.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Lead the finance team in continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Extensive experience in public accounting, non-profit accounting, or governmental accounting is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation practices.
- Familiarity with various accounting software applications; experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting activities.
- Exceptional communication skills for conveying financial information clearly to stakeholders.
