Job Overview
The Service Technician for Port City Industrial is responsible for completing installation and service requests from customers. This position requires a customer focused mindset and the ability to stay on task to complete jobs on time and in a quality manner. They will collaborate with managers, sales representatives, customers, and others to help ensure that jobs are completed as seamlessly as possible. This is a fast-paced and demanding role.
Responsibilities
- Completes all assigned jobs in the budgeted time with a focus on quality.
- Ensure that they leave for daily jobs/tasks as efficiently as possible with the proper parts, tools, equipment, etc. needed to complete all jobs
- Work with customers, service manager, project manager, and sales representatives to resolve any field related issues.
- Able to resolve sudden issues quickly as they arise in the field.
- Monitor the performance of the helper technician to ensure they are productive in helping the technician stay on task and on time.
- Ensure that helper technicians are properly trained or assisted for the jobs that they are performing.
- Managing and truck inventory account for any parts used off the truck for a job.
- Responsible for and holding accountable for maintaining uniform and truck appearance / maintenance protocols.
- Expert in use of power tools, welders, lifts, etc..
- Completes goals as assigned.
- The position reports to the Service Manager.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics interpretation.
- Comfortable performing heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks regularly..
- Prior experience with overhead door installation, dock leveler installation, and/or electrical troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely on construction sites while adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to repairs
Pay: $15.00 - $36.00 per hour
