HEAD FOOTBALL COACH POSITION
PORT ANGELES HIGH SCHOOL
DESCRIPTION:
Port Angeles High School is seeking a Head Football Coach, beginning Spring 2026, in preparation for the
2026–27 football season. The Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the football program, including varsity
and sub-varsity teams, and will be responsible for program leadership, athlete development, staff
supervision, and program operations. The successful candidate will build a positive team culture that
promotes sportsmanship, discipline, academic success, and community pride while ensuring compliance with
WIAA regulations, league rules, and district athletic policies. Responsibilities include organizing practices
and competitions, supervising athletes, coordinating coaching staff, managing equipment and program
logistics, and supporting offseason development opportunities consistent with school and WIAA guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous high school or collegiate football coaching experience
Demonstrated knowledge of NFHS Football rules and WIAA regulations
Ability to lead and organize a multi-level football program
Experience developing and implementing offensive, defensive, and special teams systems
Experience supervising and mentoring assistant coaches
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Ability to teach fundamental football techniques and strategies
Experience promoting player safety and proper tackling techniques
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, staff and community
members
Commitment to academic success, character development, and sportsmanship
Ability to organize offseason conditioning and summer football activities consistent with
WIAA rules
Must be 21 years of age or older
Wages – Coaches DOE
Benefits - Medical, Retirement, Basic Life/AD&D, Basic Long-Term Disability, FSA & HSA. Any
employee anticipated to work at least 630 hours in the school year is eligible for benefits.
