This is a full time position, for a qualified and experienced kitchen person. Someone comfortable leading the line and being the "driver" during dinner service is a must.

Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and leading a team of culinary professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation to ensure timely service.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
- Oversee food handling practices to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs for guests.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
- Participate in catering events, providing exceptional service and culinary expertise.
- Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu items that reflect current trends in the food industry.
- Maintain effective communication with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and shift management.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in food production is preferred.
- Experience with inventory management and control processes.
- Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and other departments.
