Job Summary

Seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat individuals in various settings including homes, day supports, group homes, and community environments. Services are provided to a diverse adult population with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Parkinson's, and Traumatic Brain Injury. Your expertise will help improve patients’ quality of life by developing personalized therapy plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and engaging with families and caregivers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through evidence-based practice and compassionate patient care.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for adult patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
  • Provide in-direct therapy sessions via in-person or telehealth platforms, utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve communication skills.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, families, and caregivers to ensure cohesive treatment approaches and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and document patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy strategies as needed to maximize effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, quarterly documents, and discharge summaries.
  • Educate and train clients and families on strategies to improve communication.
  • Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology to deliver high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with service coordinators, caregivers, and AAC device companies to request and receive AAC devices for patients.

Skills:

  • Proficient in speech-language pathology assessment and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for caregiver collaboration, multidisciplinary collaboration in speech-language pathology teams, and patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of various speech and language disorders.
  • Competency in using therapy-related software and tools.
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques for diverse populations including individuals with complex needs.

Education and Training Required:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid VA state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Must have completed fellowship and received ASHA certification.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel to various client locations.

Work Environment:

  • Home and community-based client settings.
  • Varying environments depending on client location and needs.
  • All non face-to-face hours can be completed from SLP's home.

Pay: $70.00 per hour
