Position Summary
Poppy Life Care is seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT or LMFT) to join our behavioral health team. This role is ideal for clinicians who are comfortable working in startup environments, value collaboration, and have experience—or strong interest—in working with neurodivergent individuals and families, including those impacted by autism, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, and complex relational dynamics.
Clinicians will provide psychotherapy services within an integrated care model that emphasizes emotional regulation, relational health, communication, and functional skill-building.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical and relational assessments
- Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy services
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
- Deliver neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care
- Support clients with emotional regulation, communication, relationships, and daily functioning
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the EHR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members across behavioral health and wellness services
- Participate in team meetings, supervision (as applicable), and quality improvement activities
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention when clinically indicated
- Adapt to evolving systems, workflows, and programs typical of a growing healthcare organization
Required Qualifications
- AMFT: Active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
- OR
- LMFT: Active, unrestricted California LMFT license
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field
- Experience or strong interest in working with neurodivergent populations
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and organizational skills
- Comfort working in fast-paced or startup environments
- Commitment to ethical practice, boundaries, and professional standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community mental health or Medi-Cal settings
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming frameworks
- Experience working within interdisciplinary or integrated care teams
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred, not required)
Supervision & Support
- AMFTs receive clinical supervision in accordance with BBS requirements
- LMFTs may participate in peer consultation or leadership activities

Schedule & Compensation
- Classification: W-2 Employee
- Schedule: Part-time or full-time opportunities available
- Minimum commitment: 10–15 hours per week
- Work hours: Monday–Friday, between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PST
- Compensation: Competitive; based on licensure, experience, and caseload
