Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Health & Wellness Coach is a passionate and experienced Coach who plays a pivotal role in guiding individuals towards achieving their health and wellness goals through both Virtually (our digital experience workflows) and Face-to-Face interactions. The Health & Wellness Coach specializes in three key pillars: nutrition, exercise, and mental health, providing personalized support and actionable strategies to promote overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer data-driven guidance with clients to assess their health and wellness goals, with potential direct coaching sessions on an as needed basis. Provide expert guidance and support in the areas of nutrition, exercise, and mental health, tailored to the individual's needs and preferences. Based on a patient’s lab results, offer expert insight and interventions that encompass dietary recommendations, exercise routines, and mental health strategies to ensure the client has all the tools necessary to be successful. Monitor and track client progress, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure continued success and satisfaction.
- Stay current with the latest developments in health and wellness practices, incorporating evidence-based techniques into coaching sessions. Offer empathetic and motivational support to clients, helping them overcome obstacles and maintain their commitment to well-being. Foster a virtual-first environment, utilizing digital tools and platforms to conduct coaching sessions, maintain records, and communicate with clients. Collaborate with other members of the health and wellness team to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to client care.
- Ensure clinical and operational flexibility to align with the startup and scrappy nature of the team and environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nutrition, exercise science, psychology, health coaching) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in health and wellness coaching, with a focus on nutrition, exercise, and mental health.
- Familiarity and experience with the data-driven preventative wellness space, particularly with biomarker testing, intervention protocols, and re-testing loops
- Strong understanding of the interplay between nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to convey complex information in an understandable and motivating manner.
- Proficient in virtual coaching platforms and comfortable conducting sessions in a virtual-first environment.
- Empathetic, compassionate, and able to build strong rapport with clients to establish trust and inspire positive change.
- Ability to adapt and customize coaching strategies to meet the diverse needs and preferences of clients.
- Certification in health coaching, nutrition, fitness, or related field is a plus.
License Required:
- Current CA Driver’s license
License Preferred:
- RD - Registered Dietitian
Certifications Required:
- BLS - AHA Basic Life or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life support)
Certifications Preferred:
- NBC-HWC certification - National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching
- CHES, or other Clinical license
- ACSM CEP certification (Certified Exercise Physiologist)
