What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at POPPY BANK EPICENTER?
SALARY RANGE: $18.21 per hour, plus tips (depends on volume and staffing)
Summary / Objective
The Host works continuously by controlling the Host stand by seating guests in the restaurant, in the manner directed by the Supervisor or Manager. Maintains a working knowledge of the TOAST App and assists guests when ordering via App. Sets up table reservations when needed. This is a tipped position that participates in a tip pool shared among servers, bartenders, and support staff. Hourly wages are supplemented by customer tips.

Essential Functions
- The Host is usually the first person to see and/or greet guests, so that first polite greeting is essential. The host is usually the last to see the guests, so wishing them a good day when they leave lets them know we appreciate them coming in.
- Very simply, be the best. Build regulars and ensure that your guests have the kind of experience that they come back for. Give the kind of service that you would enjoy.
- Greet new guests in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Maintain working knowledge of food and beverage menus to be readily available to answer guest questions regarding food and beverage questions for guests.
- Participate in and drive company initiatives and promotions.
- Have or obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and use such knowledge in day-to-day procedures.
- Have or obtain an Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
- Maintain company safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of host station and sales floor.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including, but not limited to, stocking condiments, rolling silverware, stocking cups, plates, preparing kids menus, etc.
- Maintain stock of operating supplies.
- Bus and reset tables if help is needed.
- Keep all seating areas clean, including chairs, barstools, booths, booster seats and highchairs.
- Uphold the culture and standards of Santa Rosa Entertainment Company, LLC.
- Provide excellent guest service in a friendly, positive, efficient, and enthusiastic way.
- Always greet guests with a smile and a positive attitude.
- Work hard to identify potential problems and communicate with supervisors and management to help prevent them from having an impact on guest experience.
- Promptly contact game techs, supervisors or management of other areas within Poppy Bank Epicenter, when guests have questions or issues regarding their respective areas to alleviate guest concerns/issues, if needed.
- Make sure that guests leave happy with their experience, enlisting the help of other team members, supervisors or managers as needed.
- Maintain proper stock of supplies, communicating needs or shortages with management.
- A positive attitude.
- Uniform requirements: Safe and neat uniform consisting of black pants, black nonslip shoes.
- Other duties as directed.
Work Environment
This job operates in a restaurant/kitchen environment, as well as guest service areas. Proper training will be given prior to using any dangerous equipment. Employees in this role may be exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals.
Physical Demands
The employee is required to stand 100% of their shift, climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting procedures.

- Have or obtain Food Handlers Certification.

- Must be 18 years of age or above.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a busy bar environment.
- Guest service skills.
- Bilingual a plus.
