Role & Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative next-generation systems and high-performance products and services.
- Build and maintain APIs, services, and data pipelines using Node.js, Python, SQL, and AWS services.
- Design, develop, and optimize data workflows with Snowflake, DBT, and AWS Glue for analytics and operational use cases.
- Raise the bar on team processes, deployments, developer experience, and code standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions across both application and data domains.
- Troubleshoot and debug software and data pipeline issues, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Provide constructive design and code reviews across software and data projects.
- Write and maintain multiple forms of testing, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and data quality tests.
- Contribute to observability and monitoring practices using tools like Datadog and Cloudwatch.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies in backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 6 years of engineering experience spanning backend and/or data engineering.
- Strong programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js); familiarity with Python a plus.
- Experience with backend frameworks (NestJS and/or Express preferred).
- Strong SQL expertise and knowledge of database systems (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or equivalent).
- Experience with data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.) and modern ELT patterns (DBT, Glue, Airflow).
- Cloud deployment expertise, preferably AWS Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience with observability and instrumentation tools.
- Familiarity with Observability tools and instrumentation (Datadog, New Relic, Cloudwatch, etc.)
- Knowledge of time-series and analytics databases, OLAP patterns, and data pipelines.
- Excellent collaborator with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
