Overview: We are seeking a friendly , reliable, and organized Front Desk Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. The ideal candidate will excel in delivering outstanding customer service, managing administrative tasks, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who enters our practice.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing assistance as needed.
- Manage incoming calls using phone systems, directing calls to appropriate personnel.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the calendar for medical staff.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance verification processes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage clerical tasks such as filing and data entry.
- Collect co-pays, handle payments, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with patient inquiries regarding services, procedures, and office policies.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient flow.
- Provide patients with necessary forms and educate them on office policies.
- Ensure the front desk and waiting room area is organized and presentable at all times.
Skills
- Professional demeanor and a friendly attitude.
- Proficient in medical terminology to communicate effectively within a healthcare setting.
- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail in managing administrative tasks, records and documentation.
- Experience with phone systems to handle high call volumes efficiently.
- Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting is advantageous.
- Daily duties include but not limited to answering phones, patient scheduling, check-in, patient flow and check-out process. Computer skills are required.
- Recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient copays and/or balances at check in/out.
- Patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPPA standards.
- Proficiency in using scheduling and EMR systems; experience with EMA EMR is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills focused on patient service and satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Light cleaning as needed to maintain professional atmosphere.
- Additional projects and tasks may be assigned as needed.
