Maintenance Technician - Facilities
Gerspach Properties LLC is looking for an experienced Maintenance Tech to join its staff. It manages the property that PoolSupplies.com occupies at 574 Main Street in Tonawanda, NY. PoolSupplies.com is one of the largest online and catalog retailers of swimming pool products and supplies in the country.
The Maintenance Technician will join a small group of technicians to regularly maintain and service the Company's equipment and buildings to minimize downtime, control repair costs, improve safety and guarantee the reliability and efficiency of our systems.
The candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties in the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, HVAC and other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining and repairing our buildings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs routine daily inspection and maintenance necessary to building interior/exterior as instructed by the Facilities Supervisor;
- Performs installation, repair and construction work in the building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding and HVAC;
- Fixes minor repairs to Company warehouse equipment and vehicles, such as forklifts, conveyor, and carts, when requested.
- Demolitions and renovations in the office and warehouse as requested.
- Maintains parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances free of snow and ice by plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, and salting..
- Conducts regular preventive maintenance checks on equipment.
- Assists warehouse staff by prepping some pool items such as hoses, lattice, and metal decking.
- Drives Company vehicles to pick up supplies and make deliveries. Follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Provides support to Facilities team members as well as perform other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of maintenance experience, either residential or commercial.
- Good knowledge of the practices, terminology, and safety precautions of the building trades.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may occasionally include extended shifts and weekend assignments.
- Comfortable working at significant heights.
- Experience using a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Able to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and other motorized equipment. Valid NY driver’s license.
- This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time including walking up and down stairs and ladders. The ability to bend, lift, reach, and walk with up to 50 lbs. is necessary as is working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a large warehouse environment.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
