The Details of the Position
Title: Dishwasher
Job Type: Full-Time/ Part-Time
Schedule: Weekdays (AM/PM), Weekends (AM/PM)
Work location: Poogan’s Porch, Poogan’s Southern Kitchen, Poogan’s Smokehouse
Responsibilities (include the following and other responsibilities that may be assigned as needed):
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using a dishwasher or by hand
- Keep dishwasher clean and immediately report any issues to a supervisor
- Monitor dishwasher water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle
- Maintain orderly and clean kitchen work areas and equipment
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in proper storage areas
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
- Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
- Sweep or scrub floors
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required
- Clean garbage cans with water or steam
- Receive, store, and transfer supplies as needed
- Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer any suggestions for improvement
What You Bring to the Table
Your experience: 1 year of experience is preferred, but we will gladly train any applicants that are a good fit
Your education level: High School Diploma or equivalent
Your abilities, skills, and traits:
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment
- Work well under pressure and maintain fast, efficient service
- Exhibit a “can-do” attitude and is a team player
- Take pride in your work
- Be dependable
- Be able to stand for duration of shift, climb stairs, and lift and move heavy items
