POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator must provide human resource functions in the following areas: onboarding, recruitment/talent acquisition, and employment processing. Manage full cycle recruitment, from identifying potential hires to interviewing and evaluating candidates. This position will play an important role in building a strong employer brand for Pontiac School District to ensure we attract, hire, and retain the most qualified employees.

COMPENSATION: Per Non-Union Salary Table
LOCATION: Administration Building
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Up to 226 Days
START DATE: Upon Hire
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related subject from accredited university
● SHRM Certification – Preferred
● MSBO Human Resources certification – Preferred
● HR related experience in public schools – Preferred
● Team-based management style with solid verbal and written communication skills.
● Experience working in a fast-paced environment where issues or requests may arise is a plus.
● Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and resume databases.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Proven work experience as an HR Recruiter or similar role preferred (school experience a plus)
● Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and resume databases.
● Experience working in a fast paced environment where issues or requests may arise is a plus.
● Work closely with Talent Acquisition Coordinator and assigned groups to lead recruitment efforts for vacant positions within the organization. This includes job fairs, and in-house recruitment events.
● Conduct recruiting efforts, administer pre-screen questionnaires, and conduct background checks.
● Work with principals/directors and interview teams, to ensure job requirements and expectations are understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.
● Work closely with assigned departments to lead recruitment efforts for vacant positions within the organization; screen incoming resumes and applications
● Source potential candidates from various online channels; Advertise job openings on PSD HR webpage, social media, job boards, etc.
● Regular follow up with the respective hiring managers and candidates through all aspects of their onboarding experience, to ensure timelines of recruitment process are met.
● Create and update job descriptions on a regular basis through our hiring portal.
● Administer skill assessments, process applications, and follow-up with references.
● Initiate onboarding process with new employees including: fingerprinting, reference checks, documents required by law/policy.
● Understand and communicate Pontiac Schools Policy/Rule requirements to assigned employees.
● Serve as point of contact for employees both current and new, for any HR related issues or concerns.
● Create daily, weekly, and monthly reporting regarding staffing, recruitment, and performance.
● Screen incoming calls and correspondence.
● Maintain departmental records as required.
● File documents in personnel files.
● Other HR related duties as assigned by the Assist Assistant Superintendent of Human resources.

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
● The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
● The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel.
● The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
● Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
