Duties
- Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks and support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness throughout the workspace.
- Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas to the dishwashing station promptly to ensure smooth service flow.
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas are clean and organized.
- Follow strict sanitation standards to uphold kitchen health and safety regulations, including proper manual handling techniques.
- Help with heavy lifting tasks such as moving large containers or equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Prior food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is highly valued.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or cleaning tools is a plus.
