About the Position
We are searching for a Director of Electrical Engineering, Power Delivery, to lead our expanding team of energy professionals, with a focus on substation and transmission engineering. The ideal candidate will have 15 years of related experience and will be based in one of the following Pond offices: Atlanta, GA; Peachtree Corners, GA; Tampa, FL; The Woodlands, TX; or Denver, CO, and supports the Power Services program for clients across the United States. Projects will span multiple markets and geographies, offering broad opportunities to expand knowledge and deepen expertise in design projects. We are seeking a self-starter who can work independently and contribute strategically to the success of the team and projects. As the Director, you will provide strategic leadership for the Power Delivery engineering team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You’ll develop and implement processes to enhance team performance, project efficiency, and client satisfaction. Building and maintaining strong client relationships will be key, as you’ll foster trust and identify opportunities for business growth. You will lead the design of electric transmission and substation projects, overseeing layouts, routing, and electrical design for voltages ranging from LV to EHV. Additionally, you will manage project scoping, cost estimating, and proposal development, and be responsible for mentoring the engineering team to drive technical growth and innovation. Collaborating with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure successful project execution, meeting budget, schedule, and quality requirements. You’ll also review engineering deliverables to ensure they meet industry and client standards. Representing Pond at client meetings, job sites, and industry conferences will be part of your role, along with supporting multiple concurrent projects while fostering collaboration and team efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Electrical or equivalent, Master's Degree encouraged
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred
15 Years of experience in related transmission and substation design services
Experience managing/leading technical teams and providing guidance and mentorship
Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards and design software
Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work
Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally
Salary : $130,700 - $189,500
