An exciting career awaits you at Pomerene Hospital. We are currently looking for Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Care team.
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for obtaining, analyzing, testing, measuring and monitoring blood gas samples; administering, monitoring, recording results of or instructing in the use of medical gases, aerosols and bronchopulmonary hygiene techniques; performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, mechanical ventilation and administering medications for the testing or treatment of cardiopulmonary impaired patients of all ages. Under the supervision of the Respiratory Manager and upon request of the physician, sets up and operates various types of equipment to be utilized in diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary disease and/or illness according to established standards and practice.
Essential Functions
- Moves throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assists in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrates the physical, clinical, and professional capacity to provide respiratory care as described in the tasks and duties of this position.
- Provides respiratory care under the direction and on the order of a physician or approved practitioner.
- Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
- Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.

- Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family member in explanations/discussions of testing, procedures, medications, treatments and discharge instructions when applicable.
Education and Experience
- Completion of Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program- Required.
- Medical Board State of Ohio Respiratory Licensure- Required.
- National Board of Respiratory Care Certification- Required.
- 1-3 Years of Respiratory Therapy (RRT & CRTT) Experience in a Healthcare/Medical Setting- Preferred.
- BLS, ACLS and NRP Certifications- Required (May be obtained within orientation period).
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification- Required (May be obtained within first year of employment).

Sign on Bonus
- up to $3,000 for part-time; $6,000 for full-time
