Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemical Operator to join our team. As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining chemical processing equipment to produce high-quality products. This is a critical role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the safe and efficient production of chemicals.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment, including reactors, tanks or tankers, mixers, and pumps
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and accurate production
- Monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates
- Control machinery to create chemical products during the processing of raw materials into industrial or consumer products and is responsible for area safety, cost, and quality.
- Start equipment to feed raw materials automatically or dump pre-weighed ingredients into mixing tanks, heating vessels, or on to conveyors
- Perform quality control tests to ensure product meets specifications and update logs according
- Must draw samples of the product at specified stages, perform standard tests or send samples to a laboratory for analyses
- Handle and store hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred
- Ability to wear a respirator and proper PPE as required by the job and remain clean shave as a requirement for wearing a respirator for proper fit.
- Stong observation skills and willingness to consult with others to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Ability to maintain a positive and attitude with changing priorities is a must.
- Good interpersonal/communication/ team skills is a must.
- Ability to maneuver, lift and carry up to 50 punds up and down staris.
- Previous experience as a Chemical Operator or in a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and equipment operation
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Familiarity with CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely
- Basic machining skills for equipment adjustments or repairs is a plus
- Experience working in a laboratory or quality control environment is beneficial
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as SOPs and work instructions
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
