What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at POLYPLY COMPOSITES LLC?
Job Description:
- Represent themselves, the department and the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Demonstrates necessary precautions when handling hazardous materials and dangerous equipment.
- Diagnose and repair automated CNC, PLC and industrial PC controlled machinery including hydraulic, pneumatic and air logic. (Haas, Mazak, Trumpf, Omax, etc)
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance tasks as required.
- Effectively communicate with appropriate parties regarding machinery repair status.
- Work on specialized automation and integration projects. (New process equipment and special machines).
- Travel to other locations as needed for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Perform basic plant maintenance.
- Keep the safety maintenance list up to date and sit in on monthly safety meetings.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Safety first mentality with knowledge of basic industrial safety procedures (LOTO, Hot Work, ECT)
- Self-Motivated with desire to continuously learn new concepts
- General understanding of Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical, and Stem Systems with the ability to maintain, repair, and rebuild typical components (Ex: pumps, motors, valves, switches, ect)
- Knowledge in facilities maintenance
- Basic machining experience including drilling, tapping, mill and lather work
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial systems in a safe and effective manner
- Basic computer skills with ability to utilize the Maintenance Software
Physical Requirements:
- Requires frequent standing and walking for eight or more hours per day.
- Requires bending, squatting and climbing.
- Ability to work off ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Possible exposure to hazardous chemical requiring special clothing and/or personal protective equipment.
- Ability to perform duties outside in varying conditions including both heat and cold.
