Job Summary
Polymer Molding, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Final Inspector to join our Quality Control team on 2nd shift 3pm-11pm Monday through Friday. This role is responsible for inspecting molded plastic parts to ensure they meet customer specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on inspection experience, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of injection molding quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Inspect molded plastic parts for visual defects and dimensional accuracy
- Perform first shot, in-process, and last shot inspections per customer specifications
- Inspect complete molding shots after startups, maintenance, or process changes
- Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks
- Verify correct part identification, material, and color
- Conduct cavity count, cycle checks, and functional inspections
- Document inspection results and maintain quality records
- Identify and disposition nonconforming material
- Notify supervisors of quality issues and assist with corrective actions (8D responses)
- Support prototype and first-run inspections as directed by Quality leadership.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing quality control or inspection roles.
- Knowledge with quality standards including ISO 9001,
- Hands-on experience operating measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, vision inspection systems, and CMMs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately and identify root causes of quality issues.
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes, quality management systems, and conducting quality audits.
- Experience working within a structured environment that emphasizes precision measurement and documentation accuracy is preferred.
