What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Leech Industries?
Job Key Activities and Performance Indicators:
- Read and interpret Blueprints to perform in process and final inspections.
- Determines and uses appropriate inspection processes to confirm parts meet specifications.
- Must have experience with inspection tools such as: CMM, Faro, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, etc.
- Prepare and complete inspection reports and customer specific forms, as required.
- Use computer or hardcopy to view drawings and excel documents.
- Candidate must be comfortable working in an industrial environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members and quality team to ensure that parts produced meet our rigorous customer quality. Interacts with other Departments such as: manufacturing, planning and engineering.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a fastpaced, productionbased or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must be able to learn and execute all work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality practices/standards.
- Assist in maintaining the nonconforming material system including creating nonconforming material reports, addressing noncompliance and maintaining nonconforming material log.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret Blueprints.
- Experience with CMM programming and/or Faro preferred, but not required.
- Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, PDF’s and Email.
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong Math skills.
- Knowledge of machining and machining processes.
- Independently motivated and organized
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to walk around and stand for extended periods during shift required.
- Ability to speak, read and write English required.
- Must have good time management skills.
