We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the PCI Team. This successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing machinery and facilities. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Maintenance Technician is expected to keep the plant running effectively and efficiently. This includes repair all types of machinery and includes painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and housekeeping 5S and Lean activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist management with the following tasks—
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
- Conduct repairs and replacements of defective parts to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of machinery.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and functionality of manufacturing facilities, including production areas, workshops, and storage areas.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory control of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform routine inspections of building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, and address any maintenance issues as needed.
- Assist in the installation and modification of facility equipment and infrastructure as required.
- Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks, in maintenance logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and downtime incidents for management review.
- Keep accurate records of inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Follow all relevant regulations and standards related to equipment maintenance and facility operations.
- Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to the development of safety procedures.
- Coordinate with production personnel to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to production schedules.
- Assists on special maintenance projects, i.e., preventive maintenance of building components and/or mechanicals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and other departments to address maintenance issues and coordinate repair efforts.
- Provide input on equipment upgrades, modifications, and replacement recommendations based on observed performance and maintenance needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED; additional technical certification or training in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer skills.
- Mechanical and electrical basic tool experience (hand wrenches, torque, caliper, pipe wrenches, power tools, air tools, hydraulic tools).
- Basic understanding of mechanical assemblies (conveyors, sprockets, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, centrifugal pumps, vacuum pumps).
- Basic knowledge of electrical components (480V/220V, fuses, relays, contactors, motors).
- Can confidently use a multimeter and amp meter.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic conveying and troubleshooting (controls, actuators, or valves)
- Ability to read Hydraulic and Electrical schematics.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Must be able to complete work order forms, take directions, be organized, and can effectively communicate with direct supervisor and management.
- Must enjoy working with people and take on all tasks with a friendly “can-do” attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
