1. Job Purpose/Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is a crucial manufacturing support resource. This individual is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting fabrication processes used to manufacture metal components across Fabrication, Laser Cut, Inserts, and Metaldex departments. Current processes include structural welding, robotic welding, MIG/TIG welding, induction/resistance welding, shear and stamping, plasma cutting, laser cutting, blast booth, and paint booth.
This role focuses on delivering safe, repeatable, and cost-effective processes by designing tooling, improving workflows, driving continuous improvement, and supporting production teams. They will lead/assist with long-term strategic projects focused on robots/automation, machinery, and manufacturing process improvements.
2. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance and engineering support to fabrication areas to resolve process and/or equipment problems.
- Create and sustain clear process documentation, SOPs, JSAs, etc.
- Analyze and evaluate the process workflow; make recommendations for change; follow change to ensure benefits are achieved.
- Prepare cost estimates for product, facilities, equipment and capital expansion, and provide detailed economic justification.
- Train production employees in new or existing processes, equipment, and best practices. Debug new processes for operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Lead and support improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodology.
- Analyze process workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to reduce waste, increase throughput, and optimize material utilization.
- Ensure processes meet quality standards, engineering specifications, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality to maintain control plans and ensure robust inspection methods.
- Maintain knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
- Perform related duties as required.

- SolidWorks or CAD software and drafting – 3 dimensional preferred
- Basic programming (robotic program logic)

2. Minimum Education & Work Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering with 4-5 years’ experience in manufacturing
- Experience with structural design, MIG/TIG welding, induction welding, laser cutting and/or automation preferred
