The Planner is responsible for coordinating material flow across production value streams to support customer requirements, delivery schedules, and internal production needs. This role works closely with department managers, supervisors, and production teams to review customer orders, assess raw material inventory, and schedule material through the company ERP system. The Planner helps ensure the right material is available, assigned, and moved into production in a timely and efficient manner.
Scope & Responsibilities
- Support and promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Work collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and production deadlines.
- Review customer orders and production schedules to align material planning with due dates and operational priorities.
- Utilize the ERP (D365) system to identify, assign, and schedule blocks/materials to the production mill based on customer specifications.
- Coordinate with the Material Planner, Block Yard Coordinator, and Revenue Slab Coordinator to plan material needs and resolve scheduling or supply concerns.
- Monitor raw material inventory and analyze material availability to support finished goods and revenue slab orders.
- Maintain daily Microsoft Excel reports and communicate potential risks, shortages, or negative trends to leadership.
- Help ensure orders flow in priority sequence based on due date, customer requirements, and production capacity.
- Analyze planning and production data to support sound material allocation and scheduling decisions.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with operations, planning, and leadership teams.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and standards related to accuracy, quality, safety, and timeliness.
- Work scheduled hours, including overtime or weekend hours when required to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and D365
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Strong math aptitude and analytical ability.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and navigate multiple manufacturing, scheduling, and planning systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong focus on detail and follow-through.
Experience Required
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, production coordination, or material flow is highly preferred.
- Experience in natural stone fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
