Operations Manager

Poly Seal – Industrial Coatings & Spray Foam

Position Summary

Poly Seal is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our industrial coatings and spray foam business.

This is not a sit-behind-a-desk management role. We are a growing, hardworking company that needs a leader willing to jump in wherever needed—whether that means solving field issues, helping crews on a jobsite, unloading materials, troubleshooting equipment, meeting contractors, or helping drive business growth.

The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating crews, equipment, scheduling, materials, job execution, job profitability, overall operational financial performance, and helping grow the business through contractor relationships and business development.

The right person is organized, decisive, highly accountable, customer-focused, comfortable getting their hands dirty, and understands how to build relationships that create work while protecting profitability.

Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations for industrial coatings and spray foam projects
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and scheduling to keep projects moving efficiently
  • Ensure jobs are properly staffed, prepared, and executed on time
  • Work directly with ownership, office staff, and field teams to solve operational challenges
  • Step in wherever needed to support production and keep operations running smoothly
  • Improve systems, workflows, and overall operational efficiency

Contractor Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, builders, facility managers, industrial clients, and referral partners
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities for industrial coatings, spray foam, and related specialty services
  • Meet with contractors, project managers, property owners, and decision-makers to identify project opportunities
  • Conduct job walks, site visits, and customer meetings to help secure work
  • Assist with estimating, scope reviews, and proposal follow-up as needed
  • Help grow Poly Seal’s contractor network and market presence
  • Maintain strong communication with existing customers to drive repeat business and referrals
  • Represent Poly Seal professionally in the field, industry events, and business development opportunities
  • Identify upcoming projects and proactively position Poly Seal for bid opportunities
  • Work with ownership to develop practical sales strategies for sustained growth

Marketing & Brand Growth

  • Help drive practical marketing efforts that generate leads and increase company visibility
  • Work with ownership on branding, outreach, referral development, social media, and relationship marketing
  • Identify marketing opportunities that make sense for a growing blue-collar service business
  • Ensure Poly Seal’s trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites, and customer interactions reflect a professional brand image

Hands-On Field Support

  • Regularly visit active job sites to support crews and ensure quality execution
  • Assist in the field when operational needs require it

  • Assist with hiring and building strong crews
  • Help create a positive, hardworking, accountable team culture

Scheduling & Project Execution

  • Coordinate project scheduling and manpower planning
  • Ensure crews have the right equipment, materials, and information before mobilizing
  • Oversee project execution for quality, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with customers, contractors, and internal teams as needed
  • Resolve project issues quickly and professionally

Equipment, Fleet & Warehouse

  • Oversee maintenance and readiness of spray foam rigs, coating equipment, trailers, tools, and vehicles
  • Help manage repairs and minimize downtime

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety standards, PPE requirements, and jobsite expectations
  • Conduct safety meetings and spot checks
  • Ensure crews operate safely and professionally

  • Track labor efficiency, production metrics, and operational KPIs
  • Work with ownership to improve operational systems that drive stronger company profitability
  • Assist with pricing feedback, production budgeting, and execution planning
  • Help ensure project documentation, billing milestones, and change orders support profitability
  • Monitor overall operational financial performance—not just individual jobs
