The Sheetmetal Apprentice will fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers and air moving equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping sheet metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
- Supported the assembly and installation of ductwork and other metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Work sites include commercial buildings from start to finish, as well as existing structures where we go in and make repairs or improvements
- Learn proper safety practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Transport materials and tools to job sites as needed.
- Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Follow instructions from journeymen and supervisors to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Participate in classroom instruction or related training programs as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- Strong interest in skilled trades and construction work.
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Willingness to learn and take part in a formal apprenticeship program.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and work in various environments and weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors at construction sites and clean room settings.
- May involve working at heights, in tight spaces, or variable weather.
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment and can meet deadlines
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds regularly.
