What are the responsibilities and job description for the RENTAL CABIN CLEANER position at Polk County?
Jester Park is seeking a dependable and independent individual to assist with turning over our rental cabins between rentals. This person will need to be flexible with their schedule and work independently to clean and refresh the rental cabin located at Polk County Conservation Jester Park.
Under supervision of the Park Manager or their designee, performs
a variety of minimal manual labor tasks required to maintain county park rental
cabins including cleaning/custodial duties, laundry, and light maintenance work.
- Performs cleaning, custodial care, washing and sanitizing dish ware, and laundering/changing bedding between cabin rental reservations.
- Cleans fire-rings and outside gas grills, stocks firewood, picks up litter, and hauls waste.
- Replenishes custodial cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and other stocked items in cabins.
- Replaces light bulbs, washes windows, and performs deep/detailed cleaning as needed.
- May operate leaf blowers and/or garden hose to clean outside decks and walkways.
- Checks for safety concerns, repairs, and addresses as needed or reports to a Maintenance Technician.
- Completes daily work logs and other forms as necessary.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Knowledge and use of hand tools in performing manual labor tasks.
- Knowledge and safe use of custodial cleaning chemicals, residential
clothes washer and dryer, shop vacuum, and small cleaning equipment. - Ability to perform a variety of manual labor tasks under any type of weather conditions.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with other County employees and the general public using courtesy, patience, and tact.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that will have provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- A criminal background check is required.
- A drug screen is required.
- A valid State of Iowa driver’s license is required.
Salary : $17 - $18
