Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Manage inventory levels through effective inventory management techniques, including cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
- Oversee warehouse distribution activities, coordinating with internal teams and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimize delivery timelines.
- Implement process improvements to streamline materials handling, shipping procedures, and warehouse workflows for increased efficiency.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to track shipments, update inventory records, and generate reports.
- Lead and develop a team of warehouse staff and supervisors, fostering a safety-first culture aligned with OSHA standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy lifting, forklift operation, and materials handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping & receiving documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and inbound/outbound logs.
- Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and coordinate logistics for e-commerce fulfillment.
- Monitor warehouse operations for continuous improvement opportunities in logistics processes and warehouse management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse management or as a warehouse supervisor within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, materials handling, and logistics processes.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts and mechanical equipment; forklift certification preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, and other logistics software platforms such as OSHAsafety standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while promoting safety and accountability.
- Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in shipping & receiving documentation.
