This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced commercial underwriting professional to move into a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing delegated authority/MGA partnerships, portfolio performance, underwriting quality, and strategic program growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business plans for assigned programs
- Monitor portfolio profitability, retention, pricing, and growth metrics
- Lead stewardship meetings with program administrators
- Conduct underwriting quality reviews and audits
- Manage delegated underwriting authority and referral processes
- Partner with actuarial, claims, operations, risk management, accounting, and product development teams
- Identify new products and growth opportunities
- Analyze portfolio trends and implement corrective actions
- Oversee implementation of new programs and initiatives
- Maintain strong relationships with MGA/program administrator partners
- Evaluate market trends and competitive intelligence
Qualifications
- 10 years of commercial underwriting experience
- Strong multi-line package underwriting background
- Experience with portfolio management and profitability analysis
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of admitted and non-admitted products
- Experience reviewing policy language and coverage analysis
- Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple departments
- Delegated authority, MGA, Program, or portfolio management experience preferred
