Job Description
The Support Services Division oversees commands that maintain the Department's Fleet (Fleet Services Section), secures property (Property Clerk Section), maintains and disseminates Department records (Central Records Section) and processes the printing of documents for the department (Printing Section). The Communications Section covers the city's 911 system and
the Life-Safety Systems Division is responsible for enhancing and preserving the continuity and support of PSAC.
Under supervision the clerical associates (Lv.1 and Lv.2) will perform (but is not limited to) the following duties:
- Performs clerical and related work with limited latitude for independent judgement;
- Performs data entry and retrieval;
- Performs clerical work in relation to records, files, invoices and reports using alphabetical and numerical procedures including data/control coding;
- Performs clerical operations in an assigned area such as the filing of material and the searching of files for material difficult to locate;
- Prepares reports requiring the selection of data from sample records or statistics;
- Checks records for accuracy of information and for conformity with established policy and procedures; and
- Answers phone directs call accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) - Knowledge of CityTime - Strong writing skills. A person who takes initiative, is extremely detail-oriented and can coordinate multiple priorities with minimal supervision. We are seeking a candidate who can clearly communicate and dispense information.
