What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist Assistant position at Polaris Recovery Center?
Maryland Addiction Recovery Center (MARC), the leader in comprehensive dual diagnosis addiction treatment in the Mid Atlantic area, is looking to hire Therapist Assistants (TA) for their Community Living Treatment program.
A day in the life of a Therapist Assistant (TA) –
- Play an integral part in a patient’s treatment experience by providing support to them during a challenging period of time for them and their families
- Support patients throughout their treatment process by teaching life skills, personal development, good hygiene habits, etc.
- Engage in dialogue with a collaborative team of staff to ensure we are providing exceptional patient care
- Identify the immediate needs of each patient on an individualized level of care
- Transport patients on company vehicles – weekly grocery shopping trips, volunteering events, evening transportation to fellowship meetings, to and from MARC clinical office during daytime weekday hours, etc.
- Implement clinical directives passed on by the clinical team and coordinate care by identifying the immediate needs of each patient on an individualized level of care

Additional Job duties include:
- Conduct urinalysis drug tests with patients
- Show support for patients and have meaningful interactions with them
- Documentation and communication of patient progress (progress/activity notes, email, verbal conversations) with internal staff
- Perform cleaning inspections
- Maintain professional boundaries

A person must be at least 21 years old to drive a MARC vehicle, have held a driver's license for a minimum of 4 years, and have an acceptable MVR record per company insurance guidelines.
This position is staffed twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS NEEDED.
Schedules are consistent week to week, unless an employee picks up overtime in addition to their regularly scheduled days.
Shifts are scheduled as follows:
- Day shift: 8am-4:30pm
- Evening shift: 4pm-12:30am
- Overnights: 12am-8:30am
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $21.00 per hour
